MVSA uses the birth-year registration system employed by US Soccer.
Our seasons begin on August 1. We are currently in the 2023-24 season (ends July 31, 2024).
The Birth Year Chart below provides an example of how to calculate age group and birth year. The year the season ends (i.e. 2024) minus your birth year = your age group.

Example 2023-24 season for a player born in 2013: 2024 - 2013 = 11, so the player would be U11.

U-4	Born between January 1, 2020 – April 1, 2021* (*spring season only)
U-6	Born between January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2019
U-8	Born between January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2017
U-10	Born between January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2015
U-12	Born between January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2013
U-14	Born between January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2011
U-17	Born between January 1, 2007 – December 31, 2009
